After we leave the remote George River it’s time for a swim at Python Pool. The road out is rough and corrugated, only stopping at a level crossing for a 200 cart ore train (around 2km). Beautiful Millstream’s Deep Reach for a swim and lunch. We join up with Ron and Michelle and their Quantum 4 – repairs on the Ranger all complete and successful - on the way to the incredible Hamersley Gorge, where we brave the cold water and a brown snake for another dip. The Cruiser suffers a broken rear window and cracked windscreen, courtesy of a huge quad truck barrelling past on the red dirt. After repairs we stock up at Tom Price before backtracking past Cheela towards the North West Coastal Highway and Nanutarra Roadhouse. The Towera Lyndon gravel road takes to some great river camping and eventually the Kennedy Ranges. Here we sadly leave Ron and Michelle and make our way home.

Great Australian music includes The Essential Redgum - The Last Frontier, Lee Kernaghan - Backroad Nation, Lee Kernaghan – Wheels, Sara Storer - Calling Me Home.
